The ill-fated vessel left St. John’s on February 23rd, 1918 bound for New York when it crashed and sank on the rocks off Cappahayden.

On July 21-22, the @IAMC_TMX completed its 50th inspection of the @TransMtn Expansion Project w/ @ParksCanada and @FishOceansCAN. #IAMC_TMX_IndigenousMonitors visited watercourse crossings in @JasperNP as activity focuses on the reactivation of existing pipeline in the Park.

IAMC-TMX Indigenous Monitors from Sucker Creek and Montana First Nations attended the Compliance Verification Activity (CVA) inspection alongside @TransMtn IM’s from Simpcw and Aseniwuche Winewak Nation of Canada at watercourse crossing of the Snaring River.

“From a historical perspective, this is the 50th CVA for the IAMC-TMX, but the first that includes representatives from Fisheries and Oceans Canada in the Central and Arctic Region. This is also, to my knowledge, the first post-construction inspection that the IAMC-TMX has done.” – Raymond Cardinal, IMSC Chair
