Tracy Fleck

Tracy Fleck (née L'Hirondelle) is a member of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Treaty Six. She is an experienced attorney, consultant, senior administrator, adjudicator, and university lecturer. With a Masters of Laws in First Nation Oil & Gas, Tracy brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to her role as Director General of Natural Resources Canada’s Indigenous Partnerships Office-West (IPO-West). IPO-West facilitates a coordinated federal response to Indigenous concerns related to major energy projects on the West Coast, and ensures that federal engagement with Indigenous communities is translated into concrete actions and investments to address Indigenous priorities. Prior to joining NRCan, Tracy worked as Chief Administrative Officer for Indigenous and local governments. She has worked with Indigenous nations and organizations across Canada as Associate Regional Director General at Indigenous Services Canada, federal treaty negotiator at the Federal Treaty Negotiation Office, and Senior Adjudicator IRS ADR. In addition, Tracy is a lecturer on Indigenous Rights and Treaties, and spent a year in New Zealand studying Maori Settlement Agreements.
