George Lampreau
BC Interior
George Lampreau has always been an outdoors person, ever since he was a young boy following his dad around the bush learning how to hunt and fish. He grew up on the reserve in Chu Chua (Simpcw) and went to school there and in Barriere. Upon graduation, George worked in forestry, brushing and tree spacing, then on to the fish hatchery for five years. After that, he went to running logging equipment, eventually owning his own skidder, before returning to Simpcw council full time. Among the accomplishments that George is most proud of in his work with Simpcw council is setting up community hunting in Mount Robson Provincial Park, then Jasper National Park.
