.@Pontifex visit to Lac Ste. Anne Pilgrimage & Ermineskin First Nation, site of former residential school, are framed as an important step toward reconciliation. @IAMC_TMX’s Socioeconomic Subcommittee’s thoughts are with survivors and their families, and all Indigenous peoples.
@IAMC_TMX Marine Shipping Subcommittee toured Westridge Marine Terminal on July 12 with @Transport_gc. @TransMtn Lead Environmental Officer explained that safety measures like bubble rings are taken to provide sound damping while pile driving to not disturb any sea life. If marine fauna enter the buffer zone set aside for pile driving, the company completing the work has included an emergency shut procedure. More safety measures are provided by having new @MarineResponse site nearby.

During the inspection the Indigenous Monitors and the @bc_eao looked at the Burnaby tank farm, and visited sites where archeological artifacts and Culturally Modified Trees had been found and reported to regulators and Indigenous groups. ow.ly/2vAS50JO8yx
Indigenous monitors from the @IAMC_TMX have completed a three-day inspection of the proposed #TMX between Burnaby and Hope, B.C. with the @bc_eao. This marked the first time the Indigenous Monitors have conducted an inspection with a provincial regulator.
